Last.fm Let Me Down

Did I tell anyone that I got an iPhone? Oh, I did? I wasn't sure if you'd heard. Well, I did. I got an iPhone.

Last.fm: why don't you scrobble plays from my iPhone? What is to become of my Last.fm profile? The widget in my sidebar?

No high-give to you, Last.fm.

What... last.fm scrobbled from the iphone you mean? that's apple's fault for not opening an API.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the last.fm application for mac will read the plays on your ipod when you plug it in with iTunes open and update your profile accordingly.

why you crying?

Nope - it doesn't work. In fact, Last.fm's FAQ specifically (in bold, red letters) says that the Last.fm application does not scrobble plays from the iPhone.

I do suspect that this is mostly Apple's fault, in all fairness. I haven't personally checked, but I assume that iTunes doesn't update play counts from the iPhone, otherwise Last.fm would pick it up.
